since 2001.
We're on a mission to preserve and grow music culture.
For nearly 25 years we have helped people go further into music. We help you discover the deepest music collectibles & stories behind the artists. We turn enthusiasm into life defining moments. We turn passion into obsession.
we began as a journal for collectors
Born in Brooklyn in 2001, Wax Poetics started out as a bi-monthly journal. Created by a group of writers, collectors and record diggers to tell the stories behind music culture. To help contextualise what people were listening to, by looking back at where the music came from and the stories behind it. What started as a project between friends quickly became one of the most respected journals in the world.
relaunched as the leading platform for music collectibles, memorabilia & storytelling
Building on our long history in music storytelling and our influence on music collecting culture, we launched Collections in 2024. Working directly with the world's leading artists, DJs, producers and collectors we build auctions that combine our trademark editorial with memorabilia and collectibles. A new vision for music collecting. A new way for fans to connect deeper with their favourite artists and scenes. And a new way to create opportunities for our artist, writer and creative community.

THE SPIRIT OF WAX POETICS
The young man on the right of this picture is called Hal. He is 22. He became aware of Wax Poetics through doing some casual shipping work with us. He was so inspired that whilst traveling to Japan he took his copy of Issue 8 featuring DJ Koco on the cover, hitchhiked to a DJ Koco gig on the other side of Japan and met the man himself, alone. This experience isn’t unusual for those that know us. This is the spirit of Wax Poetics...
