Up for auction is an original Strictly Rhythm jacket, size medium, from the personal archive of Louie Vega — worn maybe once or twice, and preserved in excellent condition. This jacket represents not just fashion, but the energy of Strictly Rhythm, one of the most iconic dance music labels of all time.

Strictly Rhythm wasn’t just a label — it was a movement. Louie’s earliest classics like “Love & Happiness” by River Ocean featuring India, “Deep Inside” by Hardrive, “I Get Lifted,” “Beautiful People,” and countless Soul Fusion releases all lived on this legendary imprint. Over 40–50 of his projects were released on Strictly — the label that helped define the golden era of NYC house music.

We run a popcorn bidding process. This means that if you put a bid in within the last minute of the auction, the clock will extend for another 2 minutes. This allows everyone time to get their bids in fairly.

One of the first records I ever bought was Melting Pot by Booker T. & the M.G.‘s… and Love to Love You Baby by Donna Summer. We’re talking early, pre-disco 45s. I grew up in the Bronx, and there was a little record shop just down the block — Stratford Avenue, right near Westchester. I was 10, 11 years old, already going down there to buy Salsoul records.
That passion’s stayed with me. I’ve collected vinyl, vintage gear, musical equipment, and yeah — I’m a big hat collector too. It’s part of who I am.
For me, it’s important to carry on this legacy. I’ve made music for decades and played all over the world.
