JAM MASTER JAY'S ICONIC STYLE
Run-DMC’s adoption of Adidas marked the first major intersection between music and a sportswear brand. This leather iteration reflects the evolution, moving from cotton tracksuits to elevated, premium versions that came to define their iconic look and long term partnership with the brand.
According to JMJ’s family, only a very small number of these tracksuits were retained. Many of his apparel pieces were either donated or given away after his passing, making surviving examples from his personal wardrobe scarce. This particular tracksuit was deliberately preserved as part of a small group of his personal items. It lived in the Rock & Roll hall of fame after their induction up until 2019.
