Original memorial poster for Mark Kamins, issued for the March 24, 2013 tribute event titled “Everybody - A Gathering of the Tribe” held at The Vagabond, Miami. The event followed Kamins’ passing (April 13, 1955 – February 14, 2013) and brought together members of the New York DJ community.

The poster was signed at the memorial, with signatures including John ‘Jellybean’ Benitez, Arthur Baker, Richard Vasquez, Victor Simonelli and other participating artists listed on the bill. Proceeds from the event supported the Mark Kamins Scholarship Award in Electronic Music.

Kamins was a resident DJ at Danceteria in the early 1980s and is closely associated with launching Madonna’s early club career, as well as co-owning Prime Cuts studio in New York. The piece functions as both a remembrance artefact and a document of the New York DJ community that Kamins helped shape.
