Blondie – X Offender / In the Sun Test Pressing
An original test pressing featuring "X Offender" and "In the Sun", two of Blondie’s earliest and most important recordings. Produced in extremely limited numbers during the manufacturing process, test pressings were created to check audio quality before commercial release and were never intended for retail sale.
Originally released in 1976, "X Offender" was Blondie’s debut single and introduced the band’s distinctive blend of punk, pop and new wave that would soon propel them to international success. Backed with "In the Sun," the record captures Blondie at the very beginning of their career as regulars on New York’s CBGB scene, before albums such as Parallel Lines made Debbie Harry and the band global stars.
The plain sleeve bears handwritten production annotations identifying the artist and tracks, reinforcing its origins as a genuine working copy from the pressing process.
This test pressing comes directly from the personal collection of Mary Cobra (Mary Ramirez), founding guitarist of The Detroit Cobras, whose archive reflects a lifelong appreciation of influential rock and punk music.
