Casio TB-1 MIDI Thru Box (circa 1985) Add to favourites
This Casio TB-1 MIDI Thru Box, purchased new by Don Blackman in the 1980s and housed at his home studio in South Jamaica, Queens, was an integral part of Don’s recording process for decades. Whether creating original music for 2001’s Listen album or working on commercial jingles for Burger King and Lego, he would use the TB-1 as a bay patch to run multiple instruments through his trusted Yamaha DX7. Still in working condition, this machine comes with four masking-tape reference labels in Don’s own handwriting.
Originally released by Casio in 1985, the TB-1 MIDI Thru Box allows for the control of up to eight MIDI devices from one of two master keyboards, and comes with 8 MIDI THRU and 2 MIDI IN ports with switches for each of the eight channels, and can run on six AA batteries. External power supply and original instruction manual are not included.
