This well-worn Digital Music Corp MX-8 MIDI Patch Bay/Processor, purchased by Don Blackman in the 1990s and housed at his home studio in South Jamaica, Queens, was utilized by Don for sessions across the 1990s and 2000s as well as at live performances. A masking-tape label system across the top of the machine, written in Don’s own handwriting, identifies the external devices—such as his Yamaha DX7 synthesizer and Akai S950 sampler— which Don would have routed through the machine; a manufacturer’s sticker identifies the assembly date as March, 1991, along with the serial number, 10029. 

An industry standard for MIDI studios throughout the 1990's, the Digital Music Corp MX-8 MIDI Patch Bay/Processor works as both a MIDI patch panel or router, with six MIDI ins and eight MIDI outs, two processing sections which are selectable for any input, and MIDI filters allowing extensive MIDI change and omit functions. Machine is in good working condition, and sold as is.

Insurance: For all orders over $200 we will include 1.3% on top of the hammer price to cover insurance.
