Oasis – Signed “Columbia” Promotional Test Pressing
A rare promotional test pressing of “Columbia”, personally signed by Noel and Liam Gallagher.
Written by Noel Gallagher, “Columbia” was the song that first introduced Oasis to a national audience after BBC Radio 1 championed the track in 1993, playing it nineteen times in just two weeks. Named after the Columbia Hotel in Bayswater, where the band stayed during their early trips to London, it would later open side one of Definitely Maybe, helping to launch one of Britain's most influential rock bands.
Pressed in an extremely limited promotional run before the album's release, this white-label test pressing has remained in near mint condition and features the original production credits: written by Noel Gallagher (Creation Songs Ltd/Sony ATV Music Publishing), produced by Mark Coyle with Oasis as additional producer, mixed by Owen Morris, and marked "For Promotional Use Only."
What truly sets this example apart is that the label has been hand-signed by both Noel and Liam Gallagher, transforming an already scarce promotional pressing into a highly desirable piece of Oasis memorabilia. The signatures appear directly on the record label, making this a striking display piece as well as an important artefact from the band's formative years. It has also been signed by Noel, Liam, Gem and Andy Bell on the sleeve of the record.
