Tipitina’s is one of New Orleans’ most iconic music venues, having hosted everyone from Professor Longhair—whose song “Tipitina” bequeathed the venue its name—to Jane’s Addiction, who recorded their first live album at the club in 1989. Bootsy passed through on Wednesday June 15, 2011 during his first U.S. tour in sixteen years, in support of that year’s Tha Funk Capital of the World LP. This 11” x 17” poster produced to promote the appearance, which also featured support from New Orleans’ own DJ Soul Sister, is signed by Bootsy himself.
