An official gold sales award for Black on Both Sides, the debut album by Mos Def, released via Rawkus Records in 1999, widely regarded as one of the defining hip-hop records of its era.

Presented in a classic framed format, the plaque features the album artwork alongside a gold disc and engraved plate recognising the commercial success of the release. Black on Both Sides marked a pivotal moment in late-90s hip-hop, bridging underground credibility with broader cultural impact.

This example was owned by music writer and DJ Oliver Wang (O-Dub), a respected voice in hip-hop, adding a layer of cultural context to the piece beyond its original presentation.
