Released in 1996 on F.B.T. Productions, Jeff and Mark Bass's own imprint, it was pressed in a famously small run and sold out of the trunk and a handful of Detroit shops. The reception was brutal: the album was dismissed locally as too close to Nas and AZ, too polite, too plainly the work of someone still finding a voice. Eminem has spoken since about how hard that landing hit. The answer to it was the Slim Shady persona and everything that followed. Without Infinite failing in the way it did, the records that made him do not sound the way they sound.

This is an original pressing, not a reissue or bootleg, carrying the F.B.T. Productions catalog number WEB714V. Side A runs "Infinite," "W.E.G.O.," "It's O.K.," "Tonite," "313," and "Maxine." Side B runs "Open Mic," "Never 2 Far," "Searchin'," "Backstabber," and "Jealousy Woes II." The label credits executive producers Jeff Bass and Mark Bass, production by Denaun Porter for F.B.T. Productions, co-production by "Slim" for F.B.T. Productions, and recording and mixing by Kevin Wilder and Robert "Flipside" Handy at Bassment Sounds Inc. in Ferndale, Michigan.

The copy still wears its original retail price, marked $15.95—a small detail, and a reminder that this was once a local record on a shop wall rather than a piece of hip-hop history.
