Wu Wear "Fashion Avenue" Varsity Jacket - First Corporate Staff Issue (1995)
This black wool varsity jacket was issued to Wu Wear's corporate staff during the brand's earliest days, tied to the opening of the label's first Fashion Avenue office in New York. It was never sold at retail, making it a direct artifact of Wu Wear's founding business operation rather than a consumer product.
The jacket carries a “Wu Wear” script logo across the chest in gold chenille, trailing into a stitched banner reading “est. 1995.” The back bears a circular embroidered patch — “WU WEAR” set diagonally through the center, ringed with “HEAVY DUTY FABRICS” and “WORLD WIDE REGISTER.” Black-and-gold ribbed knit trims the collar, cuffs, and waistband; the interior is fully quilted in black satin, with a snap-button front. According to Duane Grant, this example belonged to him personally from Wu Wear's formative period.
As one of the earliest surviving Wu Wear garments tied directly to the label's corporate operation rather than its retail line, the jacket documents the moment Wu-Tang's business - not just its music - took physical form.

Insurance: For all orders over $200 we will include 1.3% on top of the hammer price to cover insurance.
