In 1992 Pulp had been going for more than a decade without a hit, and they were about to sign to Island and turn into one of the biggest bands in Britain. These two TDK cassettes come from that turning point.

The AR50 is labeled “Pulp – Demos 5/92” and its handwritten inlay lists “Razzmatazz,” “The Boss,” “Happy Endings,” “Nicky,” “Styloroc,” and “Glass.” The AR60 sits in an Island Music inlay typed “Pulp” with “O.U.,” “Countdown,” “My Legendary Girlfriend,” “Babies,” “Glass,” and “She’s a Lady.” “Razzmatazz” and “Babies” both became singles, and “Babies” later returned on His ’n’ Hers.
