An original poster for the one-off Buzzcocks and Magazine concert at Manchester’s Lesser Free Trade Hall, Friday July 21st, 1978. Designed by Linder Sterling, renowned for her radical collage work and a central figure in Manchester’s punk/post-punk scene, the poster exemplifies the fusion of art and music that defined the era.
This concert was filmed by Tony Wilson and Granada TV to mark the second anniversary of the legendary 1976 Sex Pistols/Buzzcocks gig at the same venue. On the night, Buzzcocks were joined by Howard Devoto, who reappeared on stage for a special performance, making it a landmark moment in Manchester’s music history.
