Original business card for Anthony Howard Wilson, founder of Factory Records and Granada TV presenter.

Printed in pink ink on pink card (37 x 17mm), listing London, Brussels, New York. This unique card is particularly notable for listing two New York phone numbers, which, as Tony always maintained, were all one needed for an office.

When in New York, he would famously set up impromptu offices in city diners, and these two numbers likely belong to such establishments. The card also lists "Granada" and "Factory London and Brussels," referring to Factory Benelux, a joint venture with his good friend Michel, with whom he did significant work in the late 70s and 80s. For an extra international touch, the card even includes Tony's name in Japanese writing.

A rare piece of late 1970s Factory/Granada ephemera directly tied to Wilson’s role in shaping Manchester’s music and cultural landscape.

VALUATION GUIDE

Rarity – Business cards are inherently ephemeral; very few survive, especially in such good condition.

Tony Wilson – Founder of Factory Records, presenter of Granada TV’s So It Goes, and central figure in Manchester’s music mythology. Ephemera tied directly to him is exceptionally collectible.

Design & Quirk – The pink-on-pink print, Japanese text, and New York phone numbers perfectly capture Wilson’s mix of wit, internationalism, and improvisational business style (the “two numbers = an office” story is legendary).

Factory Benelux Link – Mentions Brussels/London/NY, tying it to the label’s international ambitions with Michel Duval.

Cross-collectible – Appeals to fans of Joy Division, New Order, Haçienda, and collectors of punk/post-punk ephemera.
